FORTY years on from her emergence on the late 60s folk circuit, Maddy Prior is one of the most enduring, influential and respected artists in British music.

Known for both her work as vocalist of Steeleye Span and for The Carnival Band, Prior can also be heard on records as diverse as Ralph McTell’s ‘Streets…’ and Mike Oldfield’s ‘Incantations’, her unmistakable voice and performance style earning her a special place in the hearts of fans all around the globe.

Prior appears at Haverhill Arts Centre in concert with Giles Lewin and Hannah James on Thursday October 25 at 8pm.

Prior has a history of collaborating with unexpected musicians and approaching traditional and written material from interesting and varied perspectives. On this tour she teams up with Lewin, a multi-talented instrumentalist and singer with a classical background diluted by some years in the band After Hours. He is a stalwart of The Carnival Band, another long-time collaboration of Prior’s.

They will be joined by Hannah James, singing, playing accordion and clog dancing. She is now a part of Lady Maisry, and has been in the Demon Barbers and Kerfuffle.

• Tickets are £16, available from the Box Office on 01440 714140 or via the website, haverhillartscentre.co.uk.
