Winner of the BBC New Comedy Award in 2013, former Bishop’s Stortford High School pupil Steve Bugeja returns to his old school on June 23 for a charity show.

Raising money for Grove Cottage, home of Bishop’s Stortford Mencap, he will be joined by fellow Mock the Week star Ed Gamble previewing their Edinburgh Fringe shows. Bugeja has previously taken three shows to the Fringe and written for TV shows, Mock The Week, Eight Out Of 10 Cats and Russell Howard’s Good News.

Bugeja said: “When Grove Cottage asked if I would do the performance it was a no brainer, I can’t wait to return to my home town and to my old school for this show and I’m delighted to bring Ed Gamble along with me, one of the best comedians in the country.”

Show 8pm. Tickets are £20 from www.mencapgrovecottage.org. The school is in London Road, postcode CM23 3LU.
