A food business owner near Stansted Airport who was observed using “totally unacceptable” food hygiene practices has been successfully prosecuted.
Fines can now be issued by Uttlesford District Council to those littering from vehicles, leaving their vehicle engines running unnecessarily while stationary and to those smoking in cars with someone under 18 present.
Uttlesford District Council (UDC) has published its 2018 air quality report and found that there was an improvement at monitored sites around the district last year.
Uttlesford District Council is investing in extra resources to tackle littering and fly-tipping and will consider increasing maximum fines for offenders at a meeting later in the year.
Safety fears have been raised about vehicles driving recklessly and disguising their number plates on a byway at Great Dunmow, known as Flitch Way.
