Saffron Walden’s manager has resigned from the club, according to team officials.
The Reporter can exclusively reveal that Nicky Smith has stepped down from his position as joint manager of the Bloods.
The Essex Police officer joined the club in May, along with Colin Wallington and Stuart Wardley, to be part of Walden’s new management team after the club was reinstated into Thurlow Nunn Division One after a year sabatical.
The former Colchester United player has stated “work commitments” as his reason for leaving.
Wallington told the Reporter there is no plans to bring in a joint manager but “things could change” later in the season.
The club is expected to release a statement later this week.
