AFTER a lengthy lay off due to weather, the Scorpions sprang back into action again with a convincing 36-7 win at Cambourne.
Walden started slowly but once the cobwebs were blown away the men in green blitzed the opposition with five first have tries. Veteran Andrew Peirson crossed the whitewash for the opening score and young full back Bob Herotort ran in a hat-trick of well worked tries after the ball passed through the Scorpion backs hands. Herotort also converted three of the Walden tries.
The second half was a scrappy affair but the deadlock was broken by returning player Rob Nolan after a line out was stolen and driven over. Walden also lost their South African talisman Ossie Esterhuizen to a yellow card after he became involved with the Cambourne No.10.
The Scorpions are at home next week in a top of the table clash against Renegades.
