Charity darts night at Kings Head Hadstock in memory of Penny

David Taylor, landlord of The Kings Head Hadstock hosted a charity night of darts in memory of his mum, Penny, who died just before Christmas after losing her fight with cancer.

The first Penny Taylor Memorial Trophy was contested over 501 best of five legs with the final being best of seven. The winner was Tony Boyce, who came back from 3-1 down to beat Darren Tees, 4-3. The money raised will be going to the Florence Nightingale Hospice. David Taylor said: “I would like to thank every body who came along to surport the night.”

Meanwhile, the cap at the top of the SWF Darts League is closing, with big wins for Newport Club, SWTFC and Queens Head all pulling points back on The Crown.

Results: The Crown 14 Fleur de Lys 7; White Horse 12 SWTFC Vets 9; Queens Head 16 The Axe 5; Newport Club 19 The Victory 2; SWTFC 17 Kings Head 4.
