Dunmow Bowls Club lady captain Tina Howard reached the last four of the Nationl Finals at Leamington Spa on Sunday.

However, a gruelling quarter-final game in torrential rain of 28 ends took its toll.

With just 20 minutes to recover for her semi-final, compared to over an hour for her opponent S Latham of Gloucester, Howard was defeated 21-8.

The final was won by A Jacobs of Wiltshire who beat Latham 21-8.
