Karate: Dunmow Kyokushin Karate Club youngsters set for busy month of international standard competition

Next month will be a busy one for members of Dunmow Kyokushin Karate Club.

Luke Stubbs, Amber Morris and her sister Kayley Morris are to represent England in the Pilatus Cup, for juniors under 16 years in Switzerland on March 22, while Josie Smith (cadet 16-18 years) will represent Team GB in the Kata World Tournament in Belgium on March 15.

Three of the foursome represented England in the multi-nation Severn Challenge back last autumn.

Head coach Shihan Andrew Turner continues his reputation of developing students to compete at the highest levels, and ultimately international honours.

Similar to many, these students joined the Dunmow club whilst at primary school and Shihan Andrews’s coaching style has ensured their rapid development to be experienced international competitors at a young age.

There will be opportunities to see these young sporting stars in action in Dunmow during 2014 and Shihan Andrew welcomes anyone who wants to experience the personal development kyokushin can bring.

The club is keen to find supporters for the youngsters who are representing their country, such as sponsorship to helpd fund travel expenses. Any individual or business who can help should contact Shihan Andrew through the club website, dunmowkarate.co.uk.
