The annual Felsted Essex Air Ambulance Tennis Tournament took place on the impressive senior school grass and hard courts last week.

Over 30 players, which included many Felsted mums and several dads, competed against each other in a series of fun matches.

The overall winner of the tournament was Kate Broom, a Felsted mum from Littley Green, with Penny Cherry taking second place and Lisa Stuckey third.

The tournament was organised by Felsted Preparatory and Senior School parents Sibel Peck, Clare Savva, Kathryn Wilkes and Meena McNamara. The whole day, which included a light lunch after play, raised an impressive total of over £1,200 for Essex Air Ambulance.

Mark Cain, tennis coach at Felsted Preparatory helped mastermind the event and was delighted that the sun shone on the day. He said: “I was very impressed with the level of tennis displayed and the enthusiasm of competitors.

“I am delighted to have been involved in this tournament for another year and to see such an event raise money for the Essex Air Ambulance. The charity is important to Felsted School as it has visited on several occasions and is a vital service in our rural area of Essex.”
