The final event of 2012 for Team Gridlock proved to be a mere formality. Mathematically they could only be beaten if their close rivals won the event of four rounds and they didn’t get into the first round of eliminations.

The first round of Saturday qualifying the team went straight into first place being knocked back into second by just 0.007th of a second.

The next round nearly changed the whole position when the car skewed violently on the burnout, hooking up and heading straight for the starting lights on the two side wheels before some dramatic driving got the car straight.

The final qualifying round saw the car hook up good with a very sound run to maintain qualifying in second place.

Come race day the team were in fine fettle. The car was strong, producing a 0.129 second win to give Team Gridlock back-to-back championships.

The team have also won The Roy Wilding Championship and Real Steel Championship to cap a very successful season despite missing two rounds due to breakages.

Team Principal Dexter Price said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank local sponsors Dunmow Balti Spice and Photo Excellence for their support in 2012.”
