A date has been set for this year’s off-road duathlon organised by WaldenTRI. The event, based at Carver Barracks, Wimbish, is on November 5.

The senior duathlon consists of a 5km run, 14km off road bike and finishing with another 3km run.

Distances for the juniors varies with age. The entire course is held within the aerodrome and is set upon the runways, tracks and scrubland. The bike course incorporates some of the obstacles used by the army in their training, as well as the surrounding woodland – so mountain bikes are a necessity.

The duathlon is geared up to encourage athletes of all abilities and the club would like to see some novice competitors. Relay teams of two are available, with one person running both legs and one completing the bike leg.

Entry is available via entrycentral.co.uk
