Saffron Walden Town are now just five wins from Wembley and the final of the FA Vase after seeing off Hullbridge Sports in round two.
They reached round three on Saturday with a 2-0 success at Catons Lane, the goals coming from Ryan Melaugh and Jamie Riley in the first half.
Their next stop is also against an Essex Senior League rival, this one on the road at Tilbury.
That is scheduled for December 2.
In the league itself, Takeley lost 2-1 at home to Buckhurst Hill while Stansted won 3-2 at Raunds Town in the Spartan South Midlands League Challenge Trophy.
Scott Piggott scored twice in the first half and Correy Davidson grabbed the winner after the break.
Saffron Walden Community Girls U13 Whites claimed a dramatic 4-4 draw away to table toppers Linton Aztecs.
Both sides had gone into the game unbeaten, the hosts having won all of their fixtures, but Walden produced their best performance of the campaign to earn a deserved draw.
The Aztecs took the lead early on with a shot that bounced in off the crossbar and an unfortunate defender.
That bad fortune aside, SWC defended bravely and with some excellent tackle and blocks.
And they got their reward just before half-time, Sarah intercepting a slack Linton pass and scoring from the edge of the area.
The hosts retook the lead at the start of the second half but Walden were straight back at them with tenacious work down the flanks and in midfield.
Sarah got her second direct from a corner but two quick goals from Linton seemingly put the contest out of reach of SWC.
However, the goals only served to fire the Whites up even more and after Martha and Betsy had gone close, Sarah completed her hat-trick to make it 4-3.
The final five minutes saw more pressure put on the Aztecs goal and eventually an equaliser, Martha smashing it in from 20 yards.
High Easter continue their good form in Division One of the Braintree & North Essex Sunday League after a 2-1 win over Swizzino at the Witham Sports Ground.
That moves them up to fourth.
The first half started with High Easter creating a lot of chances but unable to take any of them.
That changed early in the second half when Christian Roles pounced for 1-0, although they were almost pegged back when a shot from Dave Leader rattled the crossbar.
That proved a costly miss as Easter went up the field and made it two, fine play and a pinpoint pass from Lewis Roe allowing Mahen'a Kadimba to score an excellent goal.
Easter continued to put pressure on the Swizzino goal but were caught out in the final moments, the hosts pulling one back from the penalty spot through Tyler Pearson.
That was it though for the scoring as High Easter took the three points.
