There was success for both the girls and boys cricket teams at R A Butler Academy at the Essex county finals.
Held at Billericay, the girls only lost one game and while that wasn't enough to make it into the championship Group, they did win both games to lift the Division One trophy.
The boys did make it to the championship division, and into the finals.
A rain-affected final could have gone either way but they were still delighted with second place.
James Smith, school sport lead, said: "A huge well done to both teams. Both played exceptionally well."
There was individual success too for a youngster at Saffron Walden Cricket Club.
Charlie Hoyle hit a maiden senior century as the fourths beat Abington by 146 runs.
He finished unbeaten on 110, putting on a partnerhip in excess of 200 with Mark Kimberley (86*), as they got to 239-2 in their 40 overs.
And 4-25 from Nick Hoyle ensured Abington were all out for 93.
The seconds also won, making very light work of home side Stamford.
It was the Henry Rodda show again as he ripped through the batsmen on his way to 7-32, leaving Stamford all out for 47.
It took just 12 overs to reach that target, Jack Sneath (20) and extras (17) doing the most damage.
The first-team moved third in the East Anglian Premier League despite being held to a draw at home to Copdock & Old Ipswichian.
Openers Tom Bonham (29) and Hari Kukreja (37) had to be patient but at 101-3, and with only 22 overs left in the innings, the visitors must have thought they had done enough to keep the score low enough for a rain affected chase.
But they reckoned without Aussie Brynn Mendel who ended just four short of his maiden first-team century for the club after an incredible and explosive innings.
He faced just 43 balls but walloped 10 fours and seven sixes, guiding Walden to 275-8 in 57 overs alongside 57 from Ashleigh Cox.
Wickets fell regularly in reply until some resilience from Alex Oxley (48) and number six Thomas Harper (78*) meant SWCC ran out of time, the game losing 10 overs to rain.
Skipper Josh Down said: "Batting early doors was tricky but Tom and Hari applied themselves well to set us a platform, which Brynn and Ash could capitalise on and play aggressively.
"We felt we were in the game with the ball from the off as we took early wickets but as the pitch flattened out and Copdocks got deep into their batting line up, we just couldn't bowl them out."
The third team were unable to clinch victory too, losing away to Thriplow by 53 runs, Ray Mordini top scoring with 65.
In the Mid Essex League Premier Division, High Roding scored plenty of runs but fell to defeat by just nine runs against Little Baddow.
Batting first, Baddow made a huge 369-6 in their 45 overs, Sam South taking 2-62 and Angus Burns, Freddie Burns and Jeff Clarke one wicket each.
There was also an impressive display from 15-year-old Freddie Welsford-Knightley.
In reply Roding scored briskly, Alex Lodge getting 47, Tom Cherry 42 and Charlie Knightley a sublime 131 before Ben Chillingworth (50) and Clarke (58*) continued the onslaught.
However time was the enemy as their allotted overs ran out.
The seconds lost by five wickets at home to Chelmsford Super Kings.
They made 198-7 with an opening partnership of 49 between Jon Murphy (27) and Mark Gilfrin, and valuable contributions from Toby Warnes (26), Henry Welland (24) and top-scorer Harry Pilcher with 41
They started very well, reducing Chelmsford to 1-2, but despite 3-41 from Murphy and an economical spell from Amit Tuluskar, Chelmsford passed the target with five overs to spare.
The third team ended a run of losses though by beating Lion Hawks.
Aythorpe Roding lost too, beaten at league leaders Noak Hill Taveners by eight wickets.
As with their efforts one week earlier, half the side reached double figures but could not press on and make a decent score.
They finished on 176 with Richard Eaton's 34 the top score. Paul Gravatt (18), Rob Hyams (25), Joe Apperley (18), Callum Darby (22) and M.Taylor 20 were the others.
The visitors also had their three main bowlers missing, leaving a young attack to face the music.
And Noak Hill took full advantage with just 18 overs needed to reach the target.
Manith De Silva and Luke Wharton were the two bowlers for Roding able to make a breakthrough.
