The not-for-profit organisation is for any person, business or organisation with an interest in sustainability and building, extending or improving homes and gardens, and other types of buildings.

New chairman Jonathan Cooke said: “We aim to rejuvenate interest in the network which has been running very successfully for many years. Our ambition is to launch a community project so the wider community can see and reap the benefits of renewable and sustainable technology.”

The first event will be held on April 10 at the Saffron Walden Council Chamber at 7.30pm. Guest speaker is Chris Smith, who was the driving force behind the Gamlingay Wind Power Project.

He will highlight the obstacles that such a community project encountered, the funding, planning and community benefits.

Other events will be launched throughout the year and any member of the community interested in sustainability are welcome to attend. Contact Stuart Monk at stuart.monk@ecolivinguk.com for details on events and/or becoming a member of the group.
