OVERNIGHT work to “maintain safe and reliable journeys” on the A120 at Bishop’s Stortford near Stansted is due to take place later this month.
The work to replace road signs and renew road markings around the Priory Wood roundabout is due to start on Monday February 18.
It will take place overnight, between 8pm and 6am, for four nights and will complete by 6am on Friday February 22. On Monday night only, the westbound carriageway will be closed with a clearly signed diversion route in place.
Highways Agency project sponsor, Anna Graham, said: “This part of the A120 is important for both local road users and air passengers travelling to and from Stansted. Safety is our top priority and this work will improve safety for road users on the A120.
“This work has been scheduled to take place overnight when traffic volumes are lower. Any travellers who feel this work may affect them are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys. ”
On Monday night road users heading west will be diverted through Takeley village to rejoin the A120 at the M11/A120 Bishop’s Stortford roundabout. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, carriageway closures will be limited to one lane only.
