While most of today is expected to be dry, temperatures will not rise above 1C. Snow is expected this evening and overnight, spreading from the west.

It is expected to turn to sleet and rain, leaving icy conditions on local roads.

Temperatures are expected to rise early next week, leading to a rapid thaw of the snow, which could cause problems in already-saturated areas
