The northbound carriageway of the A12 will be shut overnight in Kelvedon this week while a damaged pedestrian bridge above the road is repaired.

This is one of several roadwork projects set to be carried out in Suffolk and north Essex by Highways England between July 31 to August 6.

Here is a full list of the planned schemes in this area, and what impact they will have on drivers:

A12, between Brentwood and Ipswich

Lane closures will be in place between 7pm and 4am, from Monday, July 31, for five nights, because of repairs being made to the road surface and safety barriers.

A12, between Kelvedon South and Kelvedon North

The northbound carriageway will be closed between 8pm and 6am, from Monday, July 31, for five nights, while repair work is carried out to the damaged Ewell Bridge. A diversion will be in place via the B1024 through Kelvedon.

The bridge over the A12 remains closed and pedestrians should use the alternative route via Windmill Hill, Highfields Lane, Maldon Road and Ewell Hall Chase, and vice versa.

A12, Marks Tey

The northbound exit slip road will be closed between 8pm and 6am, on Tuesday, August 1, while the street lights are worked on. A diversion will be in place via junction 26 and return.

A14, between the A142 and Felixstowe

Lane closures will be in place between 7pm and 6am, from Monday, July 31, for five nights, while the road surface and safety barriers are repaired. Cutting of the grass on the verges of the A14 between A142 and Felixstowe will also take place.

A120, from Marks Tey to Coggeshall

Both carriageways will be closed between 8pm and 6am, from Monday, July 31, for four nights, while engineers resurface the road and carry out drainage and lighting maintenance. A diversion will be in place via the A12, A130, A131 and A120, and vice versa. Temporary traffic lights will be in use between 8pm and 6am on Friday, August 4.

A120, Braintree to Coggeshall

Temporary traffic lights will be in use between 8pm and 6am, from Monday, July 31, for five nights, while resurfacing, drainage and lighting work is underway.

A120, Marks Tey roundabout

The roundabout and roads leading to it will be closed between 8pm and 6am, on Tuesday, August 1, while the street lights are worked on. A diversion will be in place for traffic on Station Road via Aldham to A12 junction 26. Additional diversions will be in place for traffic on the A12 and A120.
