Saffron Walden man, 33, dead after Volkswagen Polo collided with tree

A man has died following a road traffic collision in Chestnut Avenue, Saffron Walden.

Police were contacted around 12.30am today, Sunday, July 2, with reports that a white Volkswagen Polo had left the road and collided with a tree.

A 33-year-old man from Saffron Walden, was treated at the scene but sadly died, despite the efforts of paramedics.

Two other people in the car, a 34-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent and a 35-year-old-man from Braintree, were taken to Addenbrookes Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
