Quad bike rider flown to hospital after hitting tree

A MAN was flown to hospital by air ambulance after the quad bike he was riding ploughed into a tree on Sunday.

The East of England Ambulance Service was alerted to the incident in Whitehouse Road, Stebbing, at 11.25am.

An ambulance, a duty officer, the trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and the East Anglian air ambulance attended the scene.

Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “The man, who we believe to be in his 20s, received an injury to his leg.

“Following treatment and stabilisation by land and air ambulance crews, he was flown to Colchester General Hospital for further care.”
