Residents have a chance to have their say on the Local Plan draft, after councillors approved the document at a meeting this week.

The plan passed the first stage at a meeting on July 11, with the public’s views about the proposed site allocations and associated policies now sought to help develop it.

The Local Plan defines ambitions for growth in the district until 2033, including proposals for three garden communities and housing off existing communities such as Radwinter and Newport.

Three drop-in sessions have been organised for people to find out more about the plans.

The first is on July 17, from 5-8.30pm at Chesterfords Community Centre, with another on July 24 at the same time in Stebbing Village Hall.

Memorial Hall, in Little Easton, will also hold a session on July 26 from 5-8.30pm.

Hard copies are available at libraries within the district, including Uttlesford District Council and the Thaxted Community Information Centre.

The deadline for responses is 5pm on September 4.
