Motorist hospitalised following four-vehicle crash in Finchingfield

Two people were taken to hospital after a collision in Finchingfield this morning (Friday).

Four vehicles were involved in the incident, in Wethersfield Road, which left one person trapped in their car.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to the incident at 9.06am to a report of a patient who was trapped. Two rapid response vehicles, two ambulance crews, an ambulance officer and air ambulance from Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were dispatched.

“They treated a woman, believed to be in her 40s, who had hip pain, who was taken to Broomfield Hospital by land ambulance for further care. A second patient was also taken to Broomfield Hospital for further treatment.”

An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters were called to assist at the scene of a multi-vehicle road traffic collision this morning. Four vehicles were involved in the incident, which left one person trapped in their car. “Firefighters released the person by 10.10am, before leaving them in the care of the Ambulance Service and ensuring all four vehicles and the surrounding area were safe.”
