MOTORCYCLISTS will be taking part in a 30-mile charity ride - ending up at Finchingfield - to raise money for a hospice.

Dozens of riders are expected to join in with the fundraising event for St Clare Hospice.

Riders will be setting off from the centre at 1pm on Sunday July 1 to make the journey to the picturesque village.

The event is being organised by CAMRider motorcycle training centre, based at Harlow Greyhound Stadium in Harlow.

CAMRider instructor Seb Abbott said: “My brother, Damian, and mother, Gillian, were both cared for at St Clare.

“It’s a nice place with lovely staff and it’s run very well. As a charity it relies on fundraising to provide its services.”

Dave Bishop, the hospice’s community fundraiser, said: “As a biker myself I need little encouragement to get on two wheels and join a charity ride out!

“When passing the CAMRider site one sunny morning I decided to drop in and speak to Seb and the guys about a potential fundraising event for St Clare, which Seb agreed to immediately.

“We are delighted to be working alongside all the guys at CAMRider and are very much looking forward to the ride.”

Each rider has to pay £5 to take part. All money raised will go to the hospice.
