Last chance to enter Uttlesford Business Awards

Businesses have been given one last chance to submit their entries to the inaugural Uttlesford Business Awards.
The deadline has been extended by a few days following requests from a number of firms.
However, companies and individual entrants must not delay – as the deadline is 5pm tomorrow, Friday April 21.
Event organisers Archant, publishers of the Dunmow Broadcast and Saffron Walden Reporter, hope the extra time will encourage even more top entries into the scheme.
Gerald Carey, events and marketing manager at Archant Herts and Cambs, said: “Thank you to those businesses who have already entered. We have had a number of submissions and, though judging has not yet started, I am confident we will have countless excellent entries which will make shortlisting difficult.
“Due to popular demand we have extended the entry deadline by a few days, which we hope will make sure we are celebrating as many business success stories from across Uttlesford as possible.”
Top tips for your entry include:
• Make sure you read the criteria thoroughly, and then read them again to avoid getting sidetracked or going off course. • Your entry should be factual and easy to read.
• Get a second opinion, and proof-read your entry.
• Include evidence – how good is your business, is it the best of the best? Judges will not believe it just because you say so. You can supply two pieces of quantitative supporting documentation with your entry.
• Tell the story, make it an inspiring read and one written from the heart. If you are passionate about your business this will come through.
Remember, you can enter up to three categories so look at all areas of your business – and use the experience as a learning tool for your business too.
Will Lodge, Essex editor for Archant, added: “I can’t wait to see what entries we have received and to begin profiling those which successfully make the shortlist.
“By allowing this short extension to the deadline I hope for even more tip-top submissions.”
Download an entry pack at the awards website and send in your submission to Christie Bays at email@example.com by 5pm on Friday, April 21.
