Improvements to B1018 Braintree Road

PUBLISHED: 16:44 23 April 2014 | UPDATED: 16:44 23 April 2014

The B1018 Braintree Road, Cressing is to benefit from a raft of improvements.

A £200,000 Essex County Council-funded scheme will widen the existing carriageway, create a footpath to link with the existing path at the north of Braintree Road, and install new kerbing.

The scheme was discussed and approved at the Braintree Local Highways Panel on April 3.

County councillor Rodney Bass, cabinet member for Highways and Transportation, said: “This scheme will vastly improve the B1018 for all those who use it for driving, cycling or walking.”

County councillor Roger Walters, chairman of the Braintree Local Highways Panel, said: “I am pleased this project has been given the go-ahead, as it will improve the journeys of those visiting and commuting through this lovely part of the county.”
