The robbery happened at Worsted Station at about 1.20am on January 25 when two men got in through a sky-light and tried to take cash from the till.

There was a struggle and a lone male member of staff was struck with a broken snooker cue.

The robbers got out through the sky-light but nothing was stolen.

The shop area was locked but the station was open to sell fuel.

The victim was treated in hospital but his injuries were not serious.

The men, a 33-year-old from Papworth Everard and a 32-year-old from Great Shelford have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and are being questioned at Parkside Police Station in Cambridge.
