POLICE are appealing for information following a shed burglary in west Essex in which £15,000 worth of specialist bicycles were stolen.

The break-in happened in Manuden when thieves entered a garden after smashing through a neighbour’s fence on The Street between midday Friday January 6 and 9am the following morning.

They then forced their way into a shed and stole six racing bikes; makes of which include Cervelo, Santa Cruz and Pinarello.

Investigating officer, Pc Robert Anderson, said: “Given the bulky nature of these items, we believe more than one person was involved in this burglary.

“We’re looking to speak with anyone who may have seen two or more people on that Friday afternoon or evening stealing these bikes from this property or indeed anyone who has recently seen these items being sold in unusual circumstances.”

House-to-house enquiries were undertake, but to no avail.

Anyone with information in connection with this burglary is urged to contact investigating officers at Dunmow police station on 101.
