A 56-YEAR-OLD man has been given a two-year anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) following months of abuse against his neighbours in Takeley.
Yesterday (Wednesday July 28) magistrates at Chelmsford were told that Barry Grace regularly shouted, screamed or growled loudly at neighbours in Longcroft.
His actions under the influence of alcohol had caused harassment, distress and alarm and the abuse was so loud that residents and people in nearby streets were forced to keep their windows closed to avoid hearing him.
Under the conditions of the ASBO Grace was prohibited from using threatening, insulting or abusing words or disorderly behaviour and from threatening or intimidating residents or visitors in Longcroft and Roseacres.
ASB officer Tina Hall said: “ASBOs are issued to protect members of the public and we hope that this order will give reassurance to the community in Takeley that we will act and that Grace’s actions will be closely monitored.”
