Dunmow Art Group is hosting a painting demonstration by oil painter Michelle Parsons, who is best-known for her depiction of marine creatures.

Michelle will demonstrate how she paints lobsters at Foakes Hall from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Wednesday, March 20.

As well as drawing lobsters, fish and crabs, Michelle has also branched out to abstract artwork and portraits and is inspired by painters like Gerhard Richter and John Piper, using loose brushstrokes and bold colours.

Her art has been displayed at galleries throughout Essex, Sussex and London, and she sells her work across the world to private clients, interior designers and restaurants.

Michelle graduated in 1989 with a BA in Fine Art from Northumbria University, and worked in Israel creating community art and murals before returning to the UK in 1992.

She then became an art teacher and later head of art at Brentwood School in Essex, before retiring in 2016 to focus on painting full time.
